KENNEDY STUDENTS CELEBRATE THE FESTIVAL OF HARVESTS-MAKAR SANKRANTI

The students of KENNEDY HIGH the global school celebrated Makar Sankranti on 12 January 2024, with immense joy.
The festivities commenced with a traditional touch as students welcomed the day with "Kumba Swagatham," a ceremonial and respectful welcome for dignitaries. As part of the Bhogi celebration, students lit bonfires to symbolize the arrival of a new beginning, adding warmth and authenticity to the celebration.
The school management and the Physical Education teachers took the lead and flew kites, while the students watched them from a safe distance and enjoyed the activity. As part of the celebration, students took the opportunity to enlighten their peers about the significance of Sankranti, allowing everyone to appreciate the cultural and historical aspects of the festival.
Bhogi Pandlu was offered to the kids as per tradition and Bhogi Mantalu was offered to God as a part of celebration.
Students showcased their talents through various performances, reflecting the diversity and artistic brilliance that is inherent in our culture and fostering a deeper understanding of the traditions associated with Sankranti. The students danced to various songs and prayed for a good harvest.
Rangoli, with its intricate patterns and vibrant colours, is a quintessential part of Sankranti celebration. So, a Rangoli competition was organized specifically for students of Class V and VIII & Grade 5 and 8. This not only brought out the artistic skills of the students but also added a colourful and visually appealing aspect to the celebration.
The presence of Principal Mrs. Rajyalaxmi Bhat and her words of appreciation, added a sense of belonging to the school and community.
All in all, it was a wonderful day of celebration and festivities for the students of the school. It not only brought joy and merriment but also served as a platform for cultural exchange, learning, and appreciating diversity.
